Description
Heuchera 'Opal' belongs to the group of large leaf (H. maxima) natives that prefer dry, shady conditions. They thrive under native oak trees or in similar situations. Once established, they require virtually no care other than removal of the dead flowers after they bloom in the spring and summer. They are most effectively shown when planted in mass. Pink flowers appear on thin wiry stalks above the foliage in spring, changing to white as they age. Hummingbirds love the flowers. 'Opal' tolerates clay soil. It quickly reaches 2' tall and wide. Established plants are drought tolerant.
